Our Mother’s Day Visit With Mom in the Age of Social Distancing

I was so delighted to see my mother yesterday! We had to maintain a 10 foot distance from her.
Not sure she fully understood why we had to keep our distance or why we all had masks on.
We did get her to smile a few times. She was sleepy because it was nap time. She kept nodding off. And even though she had a warm winter coat and was covered with a blanket, she was chilled.
The 15 minute visit flew by fast. We were told we could do a window visit anytime! All we need to do is call to schedule one. So we will be visiting on nice days.
Although it was odd to sport the newest fashion statement, we will do what’re we need to do to see our mom. Looking forward to the day when we can hug her again.

It seems to have fixed itself. I did use my phone to post the pic and conversation.

@LadyDuck That's strange because I see it the right way and I am using my laptop.

@ElusiveButterfly I still see it upside down using my computer, I know that the problem of pictures not showing correctly is from smartphones.

Hope you don't have to stand on your heads for the window visits, too...

The only one that will have problems is Little Miss. I don't believe she is tall enough to see inside the window. I will have to bring a step stool. I have a folding one that I can toss in the car for her.

We still need to call ahead of time to schedule the window visit so that the staff can have her in her room at the time we need. They will use their phones so we can converse back and forth.

When the activities aid said that only 2 families took advantage of the courtyard visits, it made me a bit sad for those that didn't get a visit.

I was overjoyed to see her. Was nice to see my sister, nephew, brother, sister-in-law, and great nephew too. I took advantage of my sister booking her visit at 1:15 and met her there. My brother and his family had the 1:00 slot. So I got to see them prior to my visit with mom.

I didn't get to see my mother on Mother's Day. She was working and didn't come by. But I did get to talk to her.
