Jeff Koons' "Rabbit", made in 1986, sold at auction in May of 2019 for $91.1 million. The "Rabbit" became the most expensive work sold by a living artist at auction. There are 2 more of these 41" stainless steel sculptures. One is in the Broad Museum in Los Angeles, California; and one is a promised gift to Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art from Stefan T. Edlis and Gael Neeson.
What do you think of this sculpture? If you had the money, would you ever spend $91.1 million on this piece of art?

@LindaOHio thanks because I would easily pay 4.99 for one with blemishes

For $50, I could buy the stainless steel necessary to melt down and shape into that sculpture.

God no. I could spend that kind of money and get a Picasso.

I love it but I got more sense than money, unlike some people.

If I did have the money I would probably just run up the price by bidding for the sake of it... Knowing my luck though I would probably accidentally end up getting it. It is cute though so I really wouldn't mind accidentally winning it at an auction.

spectacular amount of money to spend on a sculpture doesnt look very tall either i do like art fashion and music but wow to spend that much on this i dont think its worth that much but i heard that things are only worth what a person is willing to spend on it

No, I wouldn't.
I appreciate that the high price is attributed mostly to the artist's popularity, but yeah...
I might spend $150 on it... Maybe $200.00 to throw an extra $50 at the artist.
I guess I don't have appreciation for art.
