Do I Want To Have A Cake And Eat It Too ??

Today is the first day of lockdown 04 in our country.India has been completely locked down for more than 50 days.We have been facing a lot of troubles due to long lockdown. But lockdown has a positive aspect as well.
Now we are breathing in pure atmosphere. The level of pollution in air in metro cities and small towns has drastically come down.Water flowing in our rivers is now getting pure and purer everyday.Lockdown has taught us a valuable lesson that many things we thought were essential for our happy survival are actually unnecessary.Lockdown has given us an opportunity to spend more time with our families.
But the harsh truth is that lockdown can't be continued for ever.It has to end one day.And once it ends, the same pollution ,the same rush, the same noisy streets and roads and the same cutthroat competitions will be back.
I want lockdown to end and I want the peaceful, calm, soothing impact of lockdown to continue either.
I want to have a cake and eat it too.
It's impossible.

I agree that lockdown has been good for the environment but people are starting to get restless now. Life will go back to normal and I can only hope that we are more conscious of the environment

@Marilynda1225 Amen.May your hope come true.I ,however,am not so optimistic.I have seen people forget social distancing once some relaxations are given.Today I saw heavy traffic on roads. No social distancing,no necessary precautions.

@LowRiderX Thanks. Now I can't go to the jungle and climb the hill therein.I will have to wait for 14 days more to go for my evening walk.Ours is a green zone where there are no corona positive cases, but adjacent to our town is another town which is in red zones. There are many corona positive cases and people from that area are not allowed to enter our town.
I wonder how long it all will continue.
Would you please explain which part 9f the cake confuses you??

@LowRiderX Simple. If you eat it,how can you have it?It's already eaten. And if you want to have it,how can you eat.it ?? Hope, you got me.You have only only two options.Either you have it with you or you eat it.If you eat it ,you can't have ( retain ) it .....Hope you got me.

@Shivram59 People are starting to go back to work. Everyone should be careful because we are supposed to go through a second wave of the coronavirus during flu season. I've read that it's supposed to be worse than the first wave.

I think many of us when the lock down is lifted will not be the same as we were when went into lock down. As you point out this time of reflection has given many a change of perpective and caused us to value so many things that we took for granted. We may find many of the positive aspects continue after the restriction are lifted.

@Shivram59 I do hope the positive aspects continue in the enviroment I think many people are amazed at the difference it has made to all those things you mention in your post and more. I think they will want to hold on to as many of those as they can.

@maggs224 Yes,lockdown has completely changed us.I feel I'm now not the same as I was before 25th of March when our country was totally locked down. And I think life would never be the same. The positive aspects of lockdown will continue in my own life, but I can't be sure about environment.

@saumitra1 The problem is that we change only when a disaster or a pandemic forces us to change. As soon as the pandemic ends,we begin doing the same things once again.

@Nevena83 But should a clean environment,a peaceful life not be our normal life. Are we doomed to have a polluted environment, polluted rivers and noisy life??

@Lakshman15 You are absolutely correct. If lockdown continues, economy of our country will crash. If it ends, air and water will get polluted .My question is that whether we can't enjoy a pure environment and a flourishing economy at the same time.
