While people are complaining about lockdown there seems to a positive effect on crime. Burglary, road accidents, vehicle theft, chain snatching, kidnapping and home theft seems to have reduced upto 50% in comparison to last year. Ever wondered why you find such drastic reduction ?? As people are stayput at home burglars and thieves are finding it difficult to to find a vacant house and also roads are empty to warrant an accident. Any other possible reason you think off?

@jayanth_77 I can see why they have reduced because people have to be at home more. Each day one is at home they hopefully will not get the virus and pass it on to others in their household.

@jayanth_77 Sounds like they are wanting to do everything they can to make sure criminals do not get away with things.

@Hannihar actually severe restrictions are making it difficult for the decoits to roam free on the streets and carry out their evil deeds

@Hannihar yes . When people are at home decoits and thieves can't enter the locality due to fear of getting caught. Even police are on on vigil in every nook and corner of your city. People are also not allowed to use their vehicles so accidents have reduced.

Now we're waiting for the criminals to apply for state subsidies because they can't work properly under this lockdown condition!

@jayanth_77 Funny idea! Do you see all the crooks who are 'out of work' now queuing in front of the employment office?

@MALUSE well it is better to work than put in jails and harassed by the cops.

@MALUSE Government must do something for the burglars and thieves. They must be taught skills to honestly earn their bread and butter.

Yes exactly said, lockdown has many positive impacts too. Like you have mentioned them above also we can see that nature is healing, pollution has reduced, global warming, climate change such problems have got a healing process. Also carbon dioxide emission is expected to be the least since the world war II, so these are the good things. But at the same time we need to be worry about our economy too, hope that we learn from this that when things get normal, we do consider such things and move on.

yes the world has become cleaner, more peaceful, less noise and also helped the hole on the Ozone layer to heal itself due to lower level of polution. If economy can be sustained with low levels of polution and efficient utilisation of resources then we can live in a better world .

That is a positive side effect! Though it makes me wonder if there will be some kind of surge in crime once the lockdown is lifted.

@Calebxy yes I agree with you. Crimes are bound to increase if people are not vigilant and must take proper precautions.

@happylife1 Lockdown can not be a permanent solution for the economy although crime has reduced.
