Harvesting Strawberries

Hello everyone! I have been harvesting strawberries with my Filipina friends this afternoon. Of course with social distancing. The strawberry farm which is open for the public has just open last weekend. It is only 10 minutes from where we live.
It was a spontaneous appointment this morning. When I woke up, I read the messages of our group chat on Whatsapp asking who would like to go to harvest strawberries. Of course, I said yes. It was fun.
There were only a few who were harvesting there in the strawberry fields. We just went to the entrance and the lady salesgirl weights our bowl then gave them to us again after giving us a piece of paper how many grams our bowls weight. Then we harvested happily. After that, we went to the entrance again, and the saleslady weight our harvested strawberries. 1 kilo cost 5.99 Euro but if you have harvested more than 2 kilos, they cost 4.99.
I have paid. 8 Euro for all that I have harvested. The strawberries are very delicious. We have them for dinner and the rest will be made into smoothies for the following days.
Have you harvested strawberries before?
Thanks for reading. Have a nice day/evening everyone.

Oh yum! I have never harvested my own, but oh how i love strawberries. There is a strawberry farm that does it by the bucket, it's not too far from me, but far enough away to not be convenient.

@thelme55 Yes, very convenient. A friend of mine does not live far from this strawberry farm, maybe I will have to visit her one day and make it a trip like you did with your friends.

@nawala123 We don´t have hills nearby but our weather is cool anyway. They grow in the flat ground but my strawberries are plated in hanging pots.

No I haven't harvested strawberry yet I think they climate changes in my country doesn't favour strawberry plants to grow. I like strawberries flavoured cakes and yogurt they taste very good.

I think it is too hot there in Kenya to grow strawberries. Strawberries with yogurt are delicious @erictsuma. Thank you.

That big one? Yes, it was juicy. I have just eaten it.
You can try that if you have a farm open for the public @isweartokira. It is really fun.

@thelme55 I'm doing some research, so far there's no farms near me that let you pick your own fruit :( but there are some further away, I'd have to make a day of it. however what with covid-19 I doubt much is available right now. oh well maybe someday in the future!

I'm sorry that such a farm doesn't exist here. Yes, my father has a property in the village, so I had the opportunity to pick a lot of fruits and vegetables. In addition, I have some strawberries in the yard but they are still green
