I have to give credit to the parents of six year old boy Knox Brewer who are Jonathan and Catherine Brewer who decided to teach their son a new hobby called magnet fishing. The hobby of magnet fishing came in handy in John's Island in South Carolina when Knox used his magnet fishing at Whitney Lake when the magnet was hurled into the lake and a stolen locked metal safe that was located at the bottom of the lake. With the assistance of a stranger who assisted Knox to get the safe out of the lake, they found out that the safe was stolen by a thief eight years ago. Knox's parents contacted the local police to notify them of what their son found in the lake. The stolen small safe belonged to a neighbor who had her safe that has some of her precious materials inside. Even though most of her precious materials were stolen, what remained inside the safe was good enough for the neighbor to thank the Brewer for closure of the missing safe. Even though Knox is six years of age, his dream is to join the police force when he becomes an adult. The whereabouts of the thief are not known at this time.

@Deepizzaguy I am curious how it ended up there, after it was taken.

@Jessicalynnt I am sure the criminal took what he wanted, ran to the lake and tossed the safe into the river under the cover of darkness.

The majority of cases where an item goes missing after a short period of time means it is likely gone for good according to the crime shows on television.

Parents are best teachers of the worlds. This kind of children's features are very bright because they pick their dream in very young age as well as they also follow it too.

You are correct since Knox liked the idea of magnet fishing at an early age.

I've never heard of magnet fishing. I'm sure Knox was excited by his find.

Magnet fishing is something new since it is the first time I have heard it being reported in the news.

@Deepizzaguy That experience gave him something he wants to be when he would grow up. He is very young and can make up his mind many times on what he wanted to be. That was great that they found the missing safe. I hope the thief messes up so they can catch him in something else.

What an exciting find; and I'm sure the neighbor appreciated the return of the safe.

The neighbor who received the stolen safe thanked the Brewer family for giving her closure and peace of mind that her missing item was found eight years later.
