my boring job

I want to go back to work.
Seriously, who'd have thunk?
I love the extra three hours in bed every morning, but it's such a struggle to go from Bedroom to Office once I'm up. And being up doesn't necessarily mean that I'm awake.
When lockdown started everybody was really focused. Everybody jumped on and said "hi" every morning. Everybody said "bye" every evening. We all helped each other and got to grips with this new style of working. Now, nobody says boo to a goose unless they're struggling with something. I only know my departmental colleagues are online because the little dot on Teams tells me so.
I hate working online. My role needs to be face to face. Students can't shrug at me online. They can log in to a lesson and then disappear. I sit here twiddling my thumbs, wishing my life away.
In Good News I have done some Continuous Professional Development. I did some Maths, and then I did some Philosophy. It was very basic, but it will look good to my Line Manager. I'm also teaching myself Korean using the Duolingo site. I love a bit of Korean. And I was teaching myself Braille. I should get back to that. I've also bought some items to help me teach myself Quilling. And I've done a LOT of drawing, with ink.
Oh, and SO MUCH FUN! I have a new persona; I am a five year old fairy. I love being a fairy. I write little letters and post them to my SiL, who then puts them by the Fairy Door on the landing, for my niece to find when she gets up. I've become quite good at writing like a five year old. My handwriting is divine.
So, I have been busy. But I'm itching to get back to work so that I can do my job properly.
My hair needs both cutting and dying, but I've decided to go grey gracefully. At least until lockdown ends, and then I could try something funky. Funkier colours should work better on grey hair, yes?
It's too hot to sit at the computer anymore ...
As some little bunny says, That's All Folks!

I'd like to go back to work too but think it will be a long time, if ever, before I go back.
Our hotel may reopen in a month or so but I think there will be a difference in the food we serve so possibly there will be layoffs in the kitchen

I am lucky in that there will always be students to support at college, so at least my job isn't at risk ... *touch wood*.
Is the hotel being used for anything else (people quarantining or self-isolating, etc) or is it sitting there, sad and empty? :(

I do! Don't get me wrong, I love being at home, but I do need to keep my home life and work life separate, and that's impossible at the moment.

@Poppylicious That's true. Sometimes it's hard when both work and home life got mixed up.

Hi I’m missing normal life too, although I’m trying to keep busy.

Keeping busy is good! I find I tend to start things and never finish them, so there is always something around for me to do!

I do love being a fairy. I can do magic and I have a lovely neighbour called Gnorbert. He's a gnome. :)
