The government people are confused themselves

There is now a hot argument between senators and the president's men versus the health department. It is all about the so called 2nd WAVE. The president said that when the 2nd wave comes he will lockdown the country. And then the health department head said that we are actually on the 2nd wave since March.
That simple contradictory declarations is a big issue. I wonder what is important, it is just a term - 1st wave, 2nd wave or even 100th wave. Will it matter? What matters is the 200 plus cases every day for 6 days now.
Arguing about the 2nd wave is insanity.

The point is this - what difference that it makes when we call it 1st wave or 2nd wave. It is the same. Why argue with the terminology? Don't they have better things to do?

@Alexandoy I fully agree, it is the same thing, so why to argue about this?

@LadyDuck to be frank, what scares me is the weird attitude and thinking of the authorities. They opened the malls and businesses but they restrict travel. Now they are debating on what to call the present situation. Then there is the issue of overpriced testing kits that are priced double by the health department. Oh, so many issues to tackle.

Clearly it's politics that's being played out. It doesn't matter the Corona infection wave is 2nd wave or 100th wave, their has to be reduction in the number of new cases . The politicians must sanction funds and resources which will help the medical and scientific community to control the virus.

What puzzles me is the waste of time in debating what wave it is. Instead of thinking productive actions, they are arguing on the name of the wave. That is silly.

@jayanth_77 maybe that is the job of the senators and congressmen. They have to argue to look busy.

@Alexandoy Some politicians just argue in the senate during the day and on live TV during the night. Only talk and no action

They should have educate everyone by what they mean of the first wave and second wave. They should have explain clearly how the flactuation of cases can determine the so called waves they are naming it.Flattening the curve does not happening yet. This is really still the big issue. A crisis that is very uncertain on when will it lasts

@Alexandoy oh yeah, right. Now the question is how are we gonna get through this? Mass testing is not well implemented or should I say there is no such thing as "mass" testing accdg to the authorities.. Again the "terminology"

@bestie with mass testing, I don't think it is necessary. What should be tested are the potential carriers - they are people who have contact with patients. Mass testing is like groping in the dark for a possible carrier.

Those terms are useless to us. What we need is to look at the numbers if they are growing or decreasing. Forget the flattening, forget the wave, the doubling, etc. They don't matter at all.

I'm afraid that the confused mind is a side effect of the virus.

A debate just on the name to call the situation? That is insanity. Whatever wave we call it, the situation remains that we are getting 200 plus new cases everyday. Will tne risk change if we call it 2nd wave? Or will the number go down if we call it 1st wave?

@DocAndersen the point here is the name. Does it matter if we call it 1st wave or 2nd wave, what difference does it make on the risk?

@Alexandoy personally the way i was taught, we have to finish one wave, it starts to pull back and then the second wave arrives.
waves don't roll together.

That is true. So much confusion not just on the first second or so waves, even on the implementation of the law relative to covid. Our police enforcers here apprehend violators and issue citation tickets which are sometimes baseless.

The police are using the situation to abuse their authority on us. Why issue a ticket for illegal travel. And why is there an illegal travel?

@florelway in your place maybe it is okay but here it is not good. The highway patrol group even said that they will add checkpoints to control the movement of people. Now I don't understand what condition we are in, lockdown or quarantine or what? Businesses are opening but people are restricted. It is really out of logic.

@Alexandoy exactly my point. I told our police chef not to be harsh, they were even advised by the DILG to consider humanitarian side.

@msdivkar so if the vaccine doesn't come up then we stay on lockdown forever? That is crazy.
