Can I get you a drink?

I showed a photo of the lounge of a previous home we lived in. It also had a bar in the corner. The previous owner missed the English bars he’d had ‘back home’ and decided to incorporate one when he added a huge lounge to the rear of the house. It was another thing that attracted us to the place.
The walls were lined with mirrors which showed off all the glassware and there was a padded piece across the front to lean on. On the left of the photo, an archway opens into the dining room.
We wanted something similar in this house when we built it but ours has turned out much more open and lighter. The jarrah bar-stools in the photo were made by my father.

@JudyEv My daughter put a bar in the kitchen area, next to their dining room. It was a gift, for Christian! There's a little fridge behind, sitting in a corner for cold drinks.

@allknowing Oh sorry, I hadn't realised it was supposed to be mainly tomato juice.

Wow, this was quite an elegant home, the previous owner built! I love the jarrah bar-stools your father built:) He was very talented indeed, doing wood working!

@JudyEv yeah, you need space, certain kinds of space anyways, an alcove somewhere.

@JudyEv What a lovely photo! It actually triggered a little memory from when I was little. I don't know if it was a friend of the family or an actual family member but I just remember there was a bar similar to the one in your photo and it had a pool table and apparently I stood on the pool table dancing. I was like 4 or 5 years old. Don't even know if I was here or in Sydney.
Anyway! Sorry lol just reminded me. I love that bar as well as the bar stools! So nicely made by your dad.

@JudyEv I honestly don't remember the dancing part. I was little. I THINK there is a photo of me standing / dancing on it but not totally sure about that.
I'd love to see your pool table if you do write about it.

My father liked working with wood but it was just a hobby. Here is a candlestick he made.

That’s a nice bar and so nice that you have stools that your daddy made.

We still use the stools very day but as end tables by our lounge chairs. They are just the right height when we're sitting in our recliners.

Gee, it looks like a real bar in a pub.

@JudyEv also here, I have seen small bars like that but with plenty of customers. My uncles has a bar in his home but not that classy.

We still have most of them but mostly I use them as end tables beside lounge chairs.
