Dave Roberts: Nearing Deal with Giants

Roberts has apparently chosen to sign with the Giants, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Recommendation: The Giants and Roberts are zeroing in on a three-year contract valued between $5 million and $6 million a season. A source said Roberts is ready to accept the Giants' offer, and he is awaiting final word from the team. Roberts would reunite with Bruce Bochy, his manager from San Diego the last two seasons and probably lead off and play center field, with Randy Winn moving to right.
