Dandelions or not?

I am not sure of these plants if they are dandelions. They are growing in the yard where we are now on vacation. I am thinking that they are dandelions but when I checked the leaves, they look different than what I have seen online. I have read and seen on tv that dandelions are weeds but an edible ones. They are so called super food already as it has a lot of vitamins and minerals. They can be eatin as a salad, be made into tea and added into smoothies. Have you eaten dandelion before? As what? I would like to try eating dandelion leaves stir fry or a salad but I better buy them in the supermarket. Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope you are all well.

They are dandelions. The term "weed" applies to any plant that you do not want to grow in your garden , even if it is a rose. There are many edible weeds, flowers, leaves. Check them first, then try them.

It's a close cousin called a hawkbit, not a dandelion.

They don’t look like ours at all. Ours have toothed leaves. I would never eat the few dandelions we get, because our lawn is treated with chemicals.

Those don't look like dandelions. Close, but not what I'm used to seeing sprouting everywhere. No, I've never eaten them or seen them for sale in stores.

It seems that the photo is not dandelions as what I have read on the links that are shared on this post. It seems they are called catsear @just4him. Thank you.

@thelme55 You are very welcome.
Health benefits of dandelion include relief from liver disorders, diabetes, urinary disorders, acne, jaundice, and anemia. It also helps in maintaining bone health.

They are the same family as dandelions but they are not dandelions. We call them Hawkbit in English. I don't think that they're good to eat. Young dandelion leaves are good in a salad. They are not so bitter when young. The ones which you can buy have probably been specially grown and won't be as bitter as wild ones. You shouldn't eat too much dandelion. They are a diuretic, as their French name - pis-en-lit - says!

No, they are not the real dandelions @shaggin. They are catsear which are similar looking to dandelions. I would love to try them but I will buy them from the supermarket to be sure that it is a safe food. Thank you.

They look like dandelions to me. It's a good idea to buy them at your market. I would be afraid any others might have pesticides on or around them.

They are, but I don't know which subspecies. What we have here, the density of the flower is a little different and the leaves are completely different
