Of kings and kingdoms....

One conversation my daughter and I don't agree upon is about the royals. I love watching and talking about royalty. My daughter doesn't care. She believes the royals are taking the money of the people to sustain their lavish lifestyles. True, I said, but I still like kings and kingdoms.
My initial argument was shallow, claiming I am a voyager, a descendant of Moana. Ha ha. Moana was the vibrant daughter of tribal leader in some Pacific island. The people respected her father. Some sort of 'king,' I argued. My daughter frowned.
So I leveled up my contention, saying kingship is biblical. It's even in Genesis, somewhere in the beginning of history, when Melchizedek, the king of Salem, brought out the bread and wine for Abram. My daughter shrugged. Ha ha.
This Sunday commemorates the Ascension of our Lord Jesus, our Priest in the line of Melchizedek, and our One True King.
Do you like kings and kingdoms, too?

@eileenleyva kings who have taken cared of their people are viewed as immortals even gods. Those who did not fell by the wayside completely forgotten and erased from the history books.

@allen0187 Like Nebuchadnezzar. Though he wasn't really stricken off the records. But all glory to naught.

Can't argue about that. That's an absolute.
Consider human frailty though and David is beloved to this day.
Arthur is fiction but his legend lives. Ha ha

Harry has seen the whole picture. Too bad for his brother Will.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain sounds formidable. Is it? Oh well, Piers Morgan is throwing tantrums in anger with the weakling of a government. But that's another story.
