Rice is a must for staple food

Rice is come from rice plant (indonesia : padi) or oryza sativa. It is the staple food in my country. And the wonderfull thing is... our people consider they havent already eat yet when they dont eat rice. Although they have
already consume others food with carbohydrate and the calori is the same or even more, still they said.. i havent eat yet...just because they havent eat rice yet. How about you...is eating rice a must for you?What is your staple food?

South east, south and east asian eat rice as staple food. But i think south east asia eat rice the most. For example, indonesia eat rice 3 times a day
