Seeing a sparrow after a long time.

Today morning as I woke up I heard chirping of a bird. Out of curiosity I looked thru the window and saw a sparrow perched on the boundary wall of my house. I jumped in joy to see a sparrow so common during my childhood days.
My last sighting of sparrow was a few years back when my locality was surrounded by open fields but they are all now gone due to construction activities and mobile towers.
Looks like these little birds will soon become extinct due to loss of their habitation in cities and towns.
Do you find sparrows in your area ?

Yes the sparrows are gone for ever. The noise and pollution have made their survival difficult.

Wow ...you must be living in a greener and peaceful locality. I do find crows but not sparrows. The crows can live just about anywhere and adapt to any situation.

@jayanth_77 there are many trees in our village so there are many birds here of different variety. But in the city, only the sparrow can be seen.

Yes innocent bird but eats a lot. A swarm of sparrows can destroy crops of wheat and rice . So farmers put scare crows to keep them at bay
