Deafening...

It is raining so hard now. My older brother is sweeping the rain water at the veranda so it will flow down to the ground.
The strong rains make us humans deaf, that we have to raise our voices when talking to each other.
Flashes of vertical lightning struck in the grey skies. So loud the thunder followed, that our dogs that were lying leisurely at the veranda, all stood up, tails between their hind legs, and hurriedly went inside the house when I opened the door.
Now, some of them are barking. They don't tremble of fear. It seemed the rain is their soothing sound.
I hope we will not have power outage. The rains will make our nights cool.
Is it raining now in your place?

@LadyDuck why? i think the wind there cannot even uproot a tree, right? here, especially during typhoons, a tree can be uprooted by stronger winds

that is so true. it is so hot in here. good thing my city is not the 'hottest' place this year, but in nearby provinces that reach 50 degrees heat index
