Helping people with developmental disabilities

Throughout my 17 years of work experience, I have worked primarily with people who have developmental disabilities and a mental illness. This has been very rewarding for me because I enjoy making a positive contribution to someone's life. I enjoy advocating for those who have difficulty advocating for themselves and I also enjoy watching people learn new things and gain new skills. I also enjoy being a manager and helping my program to grow and develop. I like working as a team with my staff and helping our clients to mature and live the most independent life they can.
