Hello there, today’s topic is fast as I'm practicing this and today is my 2nd day. The main reason for my fast is to satisfy my Almighty Allah and as a bonus I also can get the health benefits of keeping fast. Scientists already has proved that how much fast is beneficial for our health and now its not just a part of religion but also part of our wellness. So I'm just curious to know how often you keep fast? I have a plan for 6 days fast continuous this week and its my 2nd day as I've told. So Thursday ot would be complete. Good luck to me! I'm blessed that I'm physically fit for this, all thanks to Almighty Allah (Alhamdulillah)

fasting once or twice a week is ok but doing it for a week or more could affect your health

Sorry I'm disagree with it because I'm the live example who keeps fast in Ramadan all month long almost and physically absolutely fine. But yes if you have health issues like diabetes or something like weakness then I do agree with you my friend.

@SHOHANA Normally fasting is done from dawn to dusk and after that you eat some dry fruits then it's ok. your health won't be affected.

I don´t diet or fast, but I try to eat smaller portions. Nothing to do with religion.

I fail to see why depriving yourself of food can be of any satisfaction to your Creator. Surely, He (or She?) wants you to have everything necessary to life. How do you think that your fast 'satisfies' Allah/God?

@SHOHANA Thank you for your answer. You are right, of course. The REAL fast is internal and mental (one may also call it 'spiritual'). It is a discipline to which we submit ourselves in humility in order to help us in the journey of becoming one with our Creation/Creator. It's a very ancient technique which does not actually belong to any specific religion.

According to religious view fast is not only give up meals for a time but also we stay away from bad things like people who smokes can quit it for the sake of fast, we can control our greed, our sinful acts and that is the real fast we do for our creator. We don't have meal to show off our creator that we care about his rule and we also show that we can control our bad inside us by doing or having fast. Fast doesn’t means quitting food and drink only it has spiritual side or deep meaning when we trying to impress our creator. Hope you get me my friend! Have a blessed day

I have never tried fasting before, although I have heard that it does have some health benefits. I think the main point of fasting is to bring us closer to God in our spiritual journey. I wish you the best in your attempt to fast for six days.
