The issue of the lockdown

I am puzzled with the reality of the lockdown. When the daily cases here were less than 50, the government put us under a strict lockdown on March 15. Now that the cases are 500 plus in a day (yesterday it was 800 plus), we are now on a loose lockdown called General Community Quarantine - businesses are opened.
Why did we have to close businesses before? It doesn't make sense to me.

That is the point in this discussion,. Why put us on a lockdown for 2 months and then loosen up now when the people are already dying of hunger. If we were not put under lockdown then people will still have income no matter how small.

@DianneN yes, we are in dire straits that I think the government has lost control of the situation.

@Alexandoy It's an awful situation. We are in a terrible mess here, with people carrying on as if there never was a lockdown and the virus taking more and more lives.

I am really sorry that our government leaders have not been using their brains. When the total cases are less than 100, they put us on a lockdown. Now the cases are 18,000 they ease the lockdown. It is crazy.

@marlina the brains are there for sure because they were elected as president, senators and congressmen. They are not using their brains.

When the number of fatalities decreases then they feel it's safe to start decreasing the stay home orders @Alexandoy

I am not reading the number of deaths. I am focused on the daily cases only.

@rebelann so the lockdown is connected to the number of deaths? Now that confused me more.

With the businesses opening and the lockdown is still restricting us, I wonder where the customers of the mall would be coming from.

Those cases are probably in a centrally located area. In the U.S. they are opening businesses, in places with a low threat. In parts of our country, there are still new victims being diagnosed.

I really cannot find the logic in the lockdown 2 months ago vis-a-vis the opening of business now.

@Alexandoy If the outbreak is located many miles away, possibly the threat is less in your area. With the beginning of only 50 victims, they foresaw an urgency to stop it from spreading. Staying home orders saved many lives from being lost!

@kobesbuddy my post on the lockdown is nationwide. That is why I am wondering why the government issued a lockdown when they will lift it after 2 months of hunger.

The lockdown wasted more than 2 months of our life. It made us poor.

I wonder why the government officials didn't see this bad economy coming. The lockdown did it.
