Surprise Found Made My Day

Walking around in the yard again in the beautiful sunshine. Checking for new growth on the plants and trees. Kept noticing a male and female cardinal flying around on one of my rose of sharon bushes. I watched from a distance, with my phone in my pocket for photos. When they both flew away, I went closer to the bush and there was a nest! But it is too high for me to see inside. The bushes have grown to over six feet now. Too tall for me to see anything except the bottom of the nest. So for now I will wait and watch. I snapped this photo from several feet away of the male cardinal sitting in my poplar tree. This should be the Dad. I will keep waiting and watching. Updates soon hopefully.

Yes it is a male and the nest hopefully has eggs in it. We will see I hope.

Leave the eggs alone when you see them. Having a nest in your tree is neat.

I never touch the eggs. Only identified the nest as a cardinal.
