Never love your company or the work you do.

Go to work, just do your work the way you expect and leave. Dont give so much of your extra effort to make sure the work is perfectly done. Because, when they will tell you to take a break without any pay for 4 months, its recession, while keeping others who were just doing the work as they were told, you wont be hurt. You gave it your best and giving the break they repaid you.

@BellaEdward Yes. It is better for us to have other sources of income. At least we have a fall back, if in case the company shutsdown their operation.

True. Dedication and loyalty have no values there.

I know how you feel. I was in. a similar situation once I was on contract initially for a year. I was never absent and never late. However at the end of the year my contract was not renewed. Some persons who had poor attendance and punctuality contracts were renewed because they slept with the boss. That affected me. The world ain't fair. Sometimes you have to put yourself and your family first before some jobs. You can always get another job but you cannot get back a life that was sacrificed. So if you are sick stay home and take care of yourself. That is what sick leave is for. Killing out yourself not worth it sometimes for these ungrateful you know what I mean.

Thats worse than what these people did to me. You are better off without a boss or management like that.

@BellaEdward Thanks for the explanation. Have you got trade unions in India and if so, can they help you in this case?

@MALUSE i work in private sector, where we don't have unions. Its one man who rules the company. None can do anything.

Hi, may be i was ranting out. I used to work for my present company for 10yrs wothout complaining evewhen when i was told to work for extra hours, work on holidays or weekends, without any extra pay. Always felt proud to be doing it for company. Because for me it was my second home and i loved my work. But during the recession, people who used to complain, work less are still there and i am told to go on break. Hope you got me now.

I see what makes you say so. It really hurts in such a situation. Yes, I agree with you don't love your company but whenever you are working somewhere love your work That is a habit which will help you in the future, With other companies or with your own work.

yes love what you do and do it just right . Extra efforts don't pay more nor your love for your company . you never know when the company you work stops loving you particularly during difficult times.
