Snake for dinner?

Egypt

Good evening/night mylot friends! I was in the food topic recently so I thought to share this with you as well. Have you ever tried snake meat? In some Asian countries it's very popular. How does that plate of food looks like? Like a small snake.. exactly. But actually I was kidding, it's not a snake, it's an eel fish. Have you tried that? First it reminded me of herring, because it's skin and because it is oily and it's been made very salty. This one is more soft though.

I've never eaten snake which is why I'll never go on a survival show as they all seem to eat lots of snakes...and eels I've never eaten an eel either and would not care to Eels are fairly popular in some areas of the UK especially in London where they eat jellied eels Looks absolutely disgusting and even the sight of them makes me feel slightly sick.

I can't see a photo of a fish. An eel can remind you of a small snake. But how it can remind you of a herring is beyond me.

The system doesn't let me upload the photo for some reason. The taste at the first few bites reminded me of it, because it's skin was soft and oily and very salty. (Usually herrings I ate were also more salty compared to other fishes I eat), but it was probably because of the way of preparing, they put too much salt.

@Alexandra_bright it could be that the picture is too big. There is a size limit for uploading pics, I can't remember what the limit is and can't find it in the help section either

Eels do resemble a snake, except they live in water. Nope, I've never eaten snake or eel, but I'd be willing to try it once. I wonder why they over salt it, when many of us are trying too eat less sodium. For this reason alone, I wouldn't eat it. I heard that rattle snake is served in steaks, but I could be wrong.

@kobesbuddy that's interesting, I thought it might would taste more like beef or turkey. But I heard it's very chewy. Maybe one day I can make a joke with my bf. Cooking some snake and tell it's chicken, then tell the truth. Just kidding

@Alexandra_bright No, I have not. I really do not like looking at them let alone put them in my mouth. Thanks for explaining. Eeel is not something I would eat either. I do not like herring. I grew with herring in my house. My father loved herring.
