Did You Ever Go Fishing?

I wonder how many youngsters today have been fishing? Sitting in the shade or the hot summer sun with a line in the water? Maybe watching that red-and-white bobber for any sign of activity? I think the meme says it all!
My father wasn't a fisherman; so I never had that opportunity when I was small (plus we lived in the city); but my husband was/is a fisherman; and I've gone several times with him, both in freshwater and saltwater.
Have you ever been fishing? If you have children, have they ever been fishing?

I used to fish when I was young. I got pretty good at catching sun perch. But I don't enjoy the taste of sea food or most of it anyway. Shame that. I live very near the coast where Dungenous Crabs are plentiful and can be caught by the bucket load off the public dock. We have an annual seafood festival and I imagine there are some really good eats there. If I liked that taste.

Yeah, my husband loved to fish, and my children. I really like your title.

I grew up in the suburbs of many different towns (military), but I've been fishing with my husband many times. Our kids and grands have, also. I totally agree with that meme.

I live at the ocean. My dad taught my sister and I how to fish for snappers (baby blue fish) as children with those red and white bobbers in the bay. We then learned to fish for fluke and blues out in the ocean. He took me out deep-sea fishing for tuna. I've caught mahi mahi in Mexico. I can fish.

I grew up fishing with my parents, and all my neighborhood friends. Both freshwater and saltwater. We had a huge lake behind hour house that we all fished at growing up. I've even been fishing with my son, although my daughter doesn't want to have anything to do with it.

Growing up one Christmas us kids each got a fishing pole and Mom would take us down the block to fih in the bayou, but I haven't been since then. My brother still loves to fish today. I love to eat seafood and will go to local seafood restaurants. If my sister liked fish I would go down to Joe Pattis and get fresh fish and shrimp.and cook it myelf, but she cant stand the smell so I eat out.

I've seen that image circulated recently on facebook. No, I've never been fishing. My father's brother in law was going to take me once when I was small, but I believe my mother's parents overruled it...
