Our next song trivia series will focus on bad weather....namely "rain." I've had plenty of rain here in New Jersey (USA), going back as far as January, so I thought this song subject would be appropriate. And maybe by doing a rain series it will bring about more sunny weather in my state. Time to get "soaked with some rainy tunes." One thing I really like about rain is the sound it makes hitting against objects like a window pane. The pitter patter of the droplets against different surfaces makes music all it's own. This song by Phil Collins captures that feel of the rain coming down... Hope you enjoyed that great rain song! That guitar player is really good And now on to our trivia clues. Whodunnit? 1. This song was featured in a Western and was offered to Bob Dylan to record but he turned it down. A possible bad move on his part as this artist recorded the tune and it reached #1 on the charts in 1969. This song was written by a duo who also wrote some other popular songs among them were; Alfie, Say A LIttle Prayer and What The World Needs Now Is Love. This artist's real name was Billy Joe but he went by the initials BJ. This singer had another big hit with "Hooked On A Feeling." Do you know this singer with the initial name and his rainy song? 2. The song was written by the band's lead singer while he was still serving in the Navy. The lyrics were inspired during a heavy rain coming down into the ocean which sounded like a rhythmic beat. This tune has been covered by hundreds of artists; including Bobby Darin, Dan Fogelberg, Jan & Dean, Neil Sedaka and Jerry Jeff Walker. The song was a huge worldwide hit reaching #3 on the charts in 1962 for this American vocal group. The lyrics are sung by a man whose lover has left him; the rain falling reminds him 'what a fool' he has been. He rhetorically asks the rain for answers, but ultimately he wishes it would 'go away' and let him cry alone. The opening of the song begins with rain and that famous burst of thunder. Do you know the name of this group and their song which starts with a boom? 3. Bonus video- If you watch the video Phil Collins's backing band includes a couple of well known musicians. Do you know the names of the two rock n' roll stars? One plays electric guitar the other bass. Ok, let's "come in out of the rain" and solve these mystery songs and artists. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or, as the band Jefferson Starship would say, you can "Count On Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! Until next Saturday... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- deviantart.com

Raindrops Keep Falling Om My Head by BJ Thomas. I don't really think this is a song for Bob Dylan. Rhythm Of The Rain but can't think of the group. I recognized Eric Clapton.
