Lost wallet

India
June 7, 2020 1:26am CST
While buying a movie ticket at a movie theatre I forgot my wallet at the counter. I didn't realize that my wallet was lost until I reached home. The wallet had few odd currency notes and bank cards. I blocked the cards and got new one and totally forgot about the lost wallet. One day I got a parcel by post. As I opened the parcel I was shocked to find the lost wallet and all my bank cards intact except for the odd currency notes that was missing. There was an anonymous letter accompanying the parcel addressed on my name describing how the wallet was found. I was surprised and wondered there are still honest people around in this world. Have you had similar experiences?

@jayanth_77 Thanks so much. I'm back for now, but have so many notifications to catch up on. They make me want to run away again.

I can't say who stole the wallet. it could be someone else or the man who posted it . might have used it for the parcel booking. He did write the wallet didn't have any money. I have to believe him .

I have not with a wallet but with some very important papers. A nice man at the grocery store had picked them up and handed them to the counter for me. Untouched. I am so glad there are nice people in the world and that you also got your wallet back.

@jayanth_77 to think that the finder had spent money to parcel it to you that means there is genuine honesty.

@Alexandoy it could be that the person used the money in the wallet for booking the parcel is also possible but that's immaterial as the finder has returned my parcel.

Wow! Looks like you went to a movie and had a movie kind of experience happening to you! Like you said I'm glad there are still people who are not only honest but had taken so much effort to get the wallet reach its owner. I hadn't had this kind-of interesting experience so far but if I did, I would have been so curious to know who this person was, who had been so kind and responsible

@jayanth_77 yes, I understood that from your post But you've indirectly thanked him with your kind gesture of posting about it even though he might not know about it.

I personally have not lost any of my belongings but I remember my daughter finding a thick packet of currency notes, forgot by a person who had come to recharge his phone. My daughter promptly called him from the mobile he had recharged and handed over the packet to him. It contained 20,000 rupees, he had withdrawn from the bank to pay his minibus insurance premium.

your daughter is a very honest person. She did the right thing by calling up the person and returning the cash that he forgot while recharging his mobile phone at your shop .

Yes, I have once lost my wallet when I have just graduated in high school. I was happy that the founder returned it because in that wallet, was my result paper for the Entrance Examination that I took for my college studies. Which I have passed.
