It's all over the social media now. Tablet is one of the latest necessity for this "new normal" since they are planning to start the school year without face to face classes.
Since they don't want to skip this year for kids to still continue their education, some politicians and celebrities are giving away tablets for those who can't afford it.
I wonder where are all the money is coming from? It seems that some people have so much as if they knew that this pandemic will happen.
But it's still a good thing since they are helping out a lot of people especially the kids' education.

My son has his own computer that he bought, but he is graduating this year, not sure what the college he is going to is going to do, but hopefully not too much online work. My son is a straight A student, until he does online classes, then he barely passes because he is not motivated to do his work.

That must be hard for them since they are still young to focus on studying online. But my kids are homeschooled before this happens so they were adjusted.

@cherriefic I tried homeschooling (well,. not really me teaching him, but an online classroom) when he was a freshman and he struggled, so I put him back in public school.

Yeah, and it should be fine for the kids to use. The problem is the internet connection. I hope they will also make it more affordable and faster.

@DianneN That's true. Without it, the tablet is just a toy.

I am glad celebrities are helping out in this manner. I am not sure what the school year will look like for my niece and my second cousins next year. My nephew graduates soon.

Their intention to help students are good. I just hope that they can also help when it comes to providing good internet service.

It's not a good move and I don't see smaller kids are learning anything from this online education.

It might be just applicable to bigger kids. The smaller ones have a short attention span. But its better than get out there and get infected.

I guess it's good the kids are getting tablets but it's only useful if there is internet available.

That's a good thing as long as the kids have access to the internet. They will miss out on the interaction between the school children and many other activities.
