Recently my husband had change in behavior. At times he is like i love you, i care for you and at times he is very distant and leaves no chances to brake me down. And he got diagnozed with bipolar depression and is on medication for that. Because of this i went into depression and is on medication for anxiety disorder. I have no clue how to deal with this ? Can anyone help?

I can understand. Empathy is very important. Understand the course of bipolar and how it is happening with your husband. The more you are able to understand the phases and how cycle goes with your husband you can manage things well. Also, most importantly engage in self managing behaviours like meditation, workout, light hobbies that keeps you relax and boost your mood. This will help you maintain the peace within you. And you are doing a good jb remember this.

@shubhu3 yes we already started with that. and she referred us to a psychiatrist and we both are on medication. She didn't really start with the real counseling which i am desperately in need of.

I am actually lost and need real good advice on how to deal. I myself is depressed and don't have the ability to think and do the right thing. I am trying to find a peace within myself through meditation, but it rarely helps. My mind is always running on its own. Hope someone can guide me.

Bipolar disorder is a condition in which a person feels very happy and energetic at one time and after some time feels very sad and keeps all by himself. This 2 extreme end of feeling keeps fluctuating every day . It could be treated with councelling and medication. Daily exercise , meditation and eating proper diet helps to keep out mood in check . Also we must share our problems with our loved ones and not keep it in our mind .

@BellaEdward yes you can share your feelings here. There are always people to help you by giving good practical advice without judging you. But also seek advice from your parents, husband and other who are closest to you and know you very well. Analyse what is best and decide which advice you find suitable.

Both our parents are 60+ and have their own medical conditions. So I am not really feeling great to ask them for advices. Its better they are kept in dark. And i wasnt opening up to people who i personally know, thinking they will treat us differently. That is why i joined here to ask people who doesn't really know me, still can guide in some way. Hope you understand.

My friend has this he isn't mean to me but he can get distant but I know it is just his mental health that does it and I don't love him any less. Being empathetic is really important especially when he has swings.

@BellaEdward I am aware it isn't easy. I havent lived with someone with mental health issues but my ex has PTSD, anxiety and depression and I suspect schizophrenia. There were times he was seriously nasty and I had to make a choice stay and be dragged down with him or leave and heal myself... After I did leave he has started to turn things around

But living with a person 24*7 and act according to their mood swings isn't really easy. I got into my own issues due to that.

Only hear about in movie but not seen anyone in person. It's a challenging thing what you said but as you both know each other so do that thing which make them happy. Sometimes we need to do things which we not like but for other happiness, we should try it. I am just giving my opinion from your post so please forgive if I am wrong but you are in that position who seeing what exactly happened.

Im sorry you're in this situation and I can see why youre anxious
Im not sure I have seen a bipolar person in real life yet but there are problem people and they affect other people.
I think you yourself should see a counselor apart from him seeing a doctor to treat his own depression/mental disorder

It's really hard to take care of someone while we are also have depression. Maybe i can give a suggestion. Think about your husband if he is two kind of person. The first one for the first soul. And when he change then it's the secod person. So, no need to understand no need to worry. Because you have two people in your life. Cmiiw
