Lunch with Son

We are having our usual lunch again with our son. Since the lockdown, our lunch once or twice a week routine with our son has stopped. It was sad because it was the only time we could catch up with each other. Today, our son came for lunch during his lunch break from work. I was happy that I was cooking a warm meal again for our lunch. I cooked for him Filipino food as he had not eaten it for a long time. Though he came inside the house again and ate with us, we still didn´t have our normal hug. We used to hug each other when he came home. Well, at least we ate and talked together again inside the house. Has anything changed now in your life? Were you able to see your family members again in a very short distance? Anyway, it was a nice morning cooking and having lunch with my complete family. As I have woke up too early, I need a nap now to be able to concentrate on what I am going to write later. Have a blessed day/evening to every one of you. Thank you.

I'm sure it was wonderful having your son in your home again. That lunch looks delicious! Our son stopped by this morning after running an errand for my husband. He still wears a mask and keeps his distance from us, and doesn't want either of us to go out shopping for ourselves. He's afraid he may be a carrier. He is out and about shopping, seeing his girlfriend, her parents, and even met her brother last weekend. None of us trust the virus. Enjoy your nap.

@thelme55 The virus is rising in 22 states here, but not mine. I feel safer being cautious.

What a nice lunch today - with changes - but the important part is you were together again! Oh yes, there are so many changes in our lives because of the virus situation. We go to my parents house to drop off food, but we are all with masks on and meet outside - we never go inside the house. My sister and husband will visit them and us . . . they never enter our homes either. We have all not eaten together since February!

We have done that for more than 2 months when there was a lockdown here in Germany. Now, it is coming back little by little to normal. I think the US was the last to have a lockdown. Thank you @much2say

In the past two weeks I've seen my son and his family (not hugging or kissing) and my oldest daughter and her family (again no hugging or kissing). It was so nice to see them in person but I wanted so much to hug the grandkids. The only family I'm still missing is my middle daughter and her family. Hopefully we can have the whole family together sometime during the summer. I'm sure you enjoyed your lunch with your son and being able to see him in person. Guess it will be awhile before we can go back to hugging

That's nice your were able too eat together. I didn't realize you must have missed to Germany when your kids were young enough to move with you, and now he works there? Hopefully we don't have to wait to years before hugging out loved ones again

I know how you feel. Our son used to be able to come over for supper ever couple of weeks, but less now due to Covid. When he does get a chance, we don't hug which I really miss, but at least we can be with him.

yes this surely changed our life in many aspect. Usually i will going out to nice restaurant with my family if we have something to celebrated. like birthday, paycheck, etc. But last month, in my mother birthday. we only celebrated at home. buying a simple cake, make layered pudding, and giving our wish for my mom. simple but the important is the meaning of togetherness

During COVID times dining together even with family could be a tough call as there is every chance of catching the virus. But still you could sit down and have a meal on the same table .
