I Stole a Peony

I’m a flower thief, and I plead guilty. I’m also the first to admit it. Yes, I stole my own peony from one of 6 peony bushes growing in my yard. I love pink and I love their scent. I just couldn’t help myself. Would you believe me if I tell you that I just stole more? There is nothing I like better than scented flowers in my home. Do you keep fresh flowers in your home?

I do! I keep fresh flowers on hand all the time. Every chance I get I bring fresh flowers home to my girlfriend. Not only do they brighten her day, but like you said they fill the home with their fresh scent!

@DianneN I would love to have a yard full of flowers so that I could pick homegrown flowers for inside the house! But my yard is heavily shaded from all the oak and magnolia trees.

@moffittjc Such beautiful trees! We have lots of shaded areas and sunny areas. Unfortunately, the deer are my problem. I was outside a little while ago and caught them chomping on some flowers.

They smell so great, too. Glad you have them as well. I may have to divide mine. They are spreading all over the place.

@DianneN I love flowers. I wish I had a green thumb, alas, such is not the case. However, I can grow indoor plants.

Oh pretty! I guess I'm more of a leafy plant person more than a flower person . But we are growing flowers in the yard . . . if our experiment is successful, we'll be picking them for the dining table !

@DianneN Thanks! We planted this roll with embedded flower seeds . . . it's a mix of who-knows-what so we'll see what happens - little sprouts are coming out right now. I am ready with little teeny vases - in case only little teeny sprouts are the end result .

@much2say I hope you get good results. Years ago, I tried that with wildflowers of all kinds. Some didn't grow and the ones that did were eaten by the deer. Keep me posted!

I do, too, but these came from bushes. I took the flowers from the back where they couldn't be seen. Fresh flowers are so lovely in the house.

The deer ate my roses. I'd definitely cut some from the back and put them in a vase. What color roses do you grow?

I did steal more! A home with fresh flowers is always so much better. Hubs used to buy me fresh flowers every Friday before the virus. Now, he barely leaves the house.

I believe you that you stole more peonies for your home. I can't remember if I have smelt the fragrance of peonies before. When I was in my Philippines garden, I kept on harvesting fresh flowers from my garden as I have plenty there. Our passing by neighbors were already saying to my cousin and nieces that we have already a forest in front of our house. That we should cut some plants. I said that it is my English country garden and it is located on my land. Here in Germany, I have only orchids, petunias, aloe vera and other tropical plants inside my home.

Such a beautiful and lovely pink flower you stole and its OK as you did from your garden. Here flowers becomes unfresh after some days so we not take flower at home. I love to see flower and thus like to take photography of it.
