And it dropped

The temperature, that is.
Just as the guys finished baling their hay, I saw the wind shift. The elm tree across the street began a freestyle dance.
The sister of the Hay guys posted that the temperature dropped from 91 to 66, just like that.
I went out to set up a trash can that had blown and took the time to finally get finished with my iris.
You are supposed to let them "cure" or dry out when you dig them. Also trim the leaves down to about six inches. I figured they were cured now, so did my trimming. Some of them were already putting out new roots.
I then opened bags of soil and spread it out to plant the rhizomes in. I can hardly wait til they bloom.Right now I have treated 4x4 posts laying on the ground to mark the bed, but I really want enough limestone to go completely around it. It is about 2ft wide and ten feet long. I may have what I need in the yard, if I look hard enough.
I need to decide if I want to put some annuals in front, or maybe some other perennial. Perhaps a ground cover.
The cats helped me, but they would not tell me what they think about what else I should plant in with my iris.
Earlier today I put out one more kind of tomato, one more kind of hot pepper. I transplanted one purple basil. I watered everything.
The advantage of putting plants in containers like I am is that if I think they need more sun, I can move them. It is really paying off. I think I need to move the tomatoes from the front to the back so they will get enough sun.
I mowed for an hour today.
It will be time to sleep soon.

I have done it before, but I am being more thoughtful about where I put them.

I like some of the images you share. You have a good night as well. The cooler temps made sleep pretty sweet.
