Water aerobics

Who has done water aerobics before? Water aerobic is where you exercise in a pool (or any kind of water) and there are benefits to water aerobics. Like in the link I am sharing, it is easy on the joints, which means if someone has an injury (like a friend who was in a motorcycle accident that broke her leg) these exercises kept her in shape and helped her leg heal quicker. I also like that it is easy on the joints, but I also love to swim, so yesterday was the first day of the season. We did a low impact yesterday, but today we went into the deep end where the exercises are more intense. I did this last year too and I loved how I was able to exercise and have fun too.

I love to play in deep water but here they always do those aerobics in shallow water which I find so boring .... I never went back.

I used to love to tread water, it was relaxing and I never had sore arms from it @Carmelanirel2

@rebelann I remember having to tread water for 5 minutes in order to pass swim class. Then when my children had lessons, I was shocked they didn't have to do that, I think it's important.

That's too bad, the deep end exercises are amazing, except I think I overdid it today, my arms are sore.

But it isn't swimming, it is doing exercises that you do on land, but in water and the water isn't over your head unless you want to go into the deeper end.

I heard that was an incredible workout. My apartment complex has a pool, but I know those dozens of kids are peeing in the pool. So I'm not tempted although I'd love to try them.

Yeah, but I figure the chlorine will get rid of most of that and we are the first ones in the pool every morning.

I know Valerie does some kind of water exercises, not sure if its aerobics. I can't swim plus there is no way I would let anyone see me in a bathing suit.

You don't have to swim if you're doing it in the shallow end and I am not in shape either (that's why I'm doing these) and they have really cute swimsuits for larger women. One of the ladies told me about a site called swimsuits4all I haven't bought any yet, but there are a couple I would love to buy when I can.

You could do the shallow end, you don't even get your hair wet unless you splash yourself.

This is a very good idea. As you say, it's much easier on the joints.

It is. I am able to exercise on land, but in the water I can really push myself without worrying about hurting my feet or knees.
