Fighter Jets Flying Over My House

At 8pm last night we had fighter jets flying over the house. We were watching tv when suddenly this extremely loud and scary noise started coming from the sky. The house was shaking and so was I to tell you the truth.
When we went outside to see what was happening (all the neighbors were out too) I totally expected to see the Mother ship landing and that we were all going to be abducted by aliens. I figured I would see something like Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
It was even more alarming to see that it was fighter jets circling around. After everything going on this year what else can possibly happen.
Seems that Trump was in New Jersey and a small plane from our nearby airport took off and was in the air space. Apparently there's a 50 mile radius.
As scared as I was from seeing the planes and hearing the godawful noise I can't even imagine how that poor pilot felt when those planes descended upon him ordering him to land.
That was enough excitement for me and I'm still thinking about it.
But, it's Saturday and a gorgeous day.
My daughter just went to pick up some bagels (yay they finally opened again).
Who knows what the day will bring and 2020 certainly will be a year to remember (or forget).

Oh wow! We've had planes fly low here before (I don't know what type - just knew they were flying low) and that scared us. I know exactly what you mean about the noise and how terrifying it can be. I would not want to be in the sky and surrounded by fighter jets, that's for sure!
I am glad that everything ended up okay.

@Marilynda1225 I am sure you were making up all sorts of things in your head of what it could be and what it could mean. I feel like in this day and age, something could have been broadcast so as not to worry the neighborhoods they flew over.

Every single neighbor was out and everyone was looking at the sky. At first all you could hear was the noise before the military planes appeared

When I was at the beach a few days ago...military aircraft were all over the place flying low. There are air stations nearby though. I guess they were out on maneuvers..but it was funny seeing them so close. They are loud as well.

Jets flying low over the house would certainly scare me. I'm glad you found out the reason for such activity.
