I was educated by my parents since childhood that I must respect others.
And i will always try to do so in every aspect in my life. wherever i am, at the office, at home, my neighborhood.
Sometimes we found other person no to do so. we can be disappointed but we cannot change someone's habit.
Always be polite to others and respect them and pray they will do the same.

@iniaku My parents have also taught me to respect others. They say we should never hurt others. Neither physically, nor mentally. Also, they always say,we get from others what we give to others.

@iniaku Exactly. In our Hindu holy scriptures it is called Karma. Our Karma is responsible for the reward or the punishment we receive from others.

What your parents have taught you is right. People will respect us only if we give respect to them too.

okay.
for myself, respect ourself is a basic confidence that we have to develop each morning.
but respect others is another things. you know, sometimes we ever heard this statement"they don't deserves our respects" (for someone have a bad behaviour or bad impact)
