How do you save money for rainy day?

Saving money for a rainy day is an idiomatic expression that means to reserve money for a time when it might be needed unexpectedly. I start saving 3/4 of the money that my husband gives to me as pocket money every month in my piggy bank. Once the piggy bank is full, I will transfer the money to my bank account. Thus my rainy day fund will be always liquid and ready to help us whenever we need it. My friends told me that the rainy day fund is better in the form of gold or investment. But I'd prefer to save it in my bank account. What about you?

I try but here it is a bit difficult, it is always important to save some money in case of an emergency or complicated situation, for example right now with this pandemic and quarantine, many people like me do not produce money and a savings fund is needed.

That's sad. I understand your situation. Many people face the same problem like you.

It's hard to save at the moment. I am not working, and although my husband is working, things are still a bit tight. He's trying to work a few extra hours when he can and I am trying to do what I can to find something to earn an extra income.

You're a good wife for your husband. Not many wives want to work for helping their husband.

Years ago a bill was paid off, but we kept that same amount going into a savings account before we got used to having it to spend again. Your piggy bank to savings account is a good idea.

That's good to save money for paying the next bill. I do the same thing like you do.
