so many expired breads in the mart

I shopped today in the mart but I was a bit frustrated because there were no breads in the shelves.
Then by and by, my attention was directed to piles of boxes of bread at the corner. I told the cashier that they had breads over that corner.
He told me that they were all expired thus needed to be returned.
So many breads are wasted now that the lockdown has been eased out. People do not do panic buying anymore.

Maybe there could be something used for expired bread.

Would the store not let you take a look at them? Surely not all of them had molded.

That's stupid of them, they should be giving that bread away to their customers! FREE

@Janet357 They can't legally sell these loaves of bread, but nothing says they can't GIVE them away!

The mart people should have donated the bread before they expired to the poor and needy if not sold.

That's bad because they don't have any fresh bread. I don't think it's wasted and is used in some other thing
