Lavender

I had one variety of lavender that survived last winter. Then we had a freeze and it had a major dieback.
I took the time to cut all that had died off and the plant has done wonderfully. It put on lots of new growth and is filled with blooms. I love it.
There have not been as many pollinators as usual, so that is a disappointment. I just gathered a bunch of lavender, but left about half of the blooms so that if butterflies and such come along there is still something for them.
When you cut the stems, go down to the joint where two leaves are. Cut there. You will be rewarded with wonderful and abundant regrowth.
So that is what I have been doing while waiting on hubs to get ready for church.

There are so many different varieties. I do not notice wasps there, but in some other places.

@GardenGerty Bees and wasp are all the time around lavender, we have the English lavender here. It resists a lot better in the winter, it also has a stronger scent.

This one is in the ground in a rock garden. I do have a potted variety as well.

@GardenGerty I will definitely buy a potted one here if it can survive the heat we have here.

I love to look at lavender, but I’m highly allergic to it. So, I just admire it from a distance.

Some varieties are easier than others. The one I have in a pot is labeled as Spanish lavender.

I love lavender, I cut the lavender plant at work back last year, and it’s now flowering again

I think this one will flower most of the summer, if I keep at it.
