This is Our TV Room

We originally planned on adding a screened in porch. Our contractor asked if we would like windows that opened. The windows that opened needed walls. The walls turned into this room in my photo.
After years of kids, dogs, and cats ruining our floors and furniture,
we gutted this family room a couple of years ago, which is next to our old family room, and turned it into this.
We love our new family room. It’s where hubby and I watch TV and movies every evening. We also watch TV in the kitchen while cooking and our bedroom before going to sleep. It relaxes us.
Where do you watch TV?

Everything I watch, such as it is, is on my tablet, so I watch things anywhere I am.
Seriously, I do have a TV in the living room, but I rarely turn it on (save to watch DVDs).
Beautiful room!!! Love the colors!

@DianneN Things are progressing. Our roof has been re-slated, we've had new doors and windows fitted and the central heating boiler has been moved from the kitchen up into the attic and new radiators fitted.
We're just waiting for a date when the interior work can start. Once that starts it should be about 6 weeks.
It's difficult to believe such a small house could cost so much to renovate.

@WorDazza Slate is very expensive. My brother just had his redone and new windows, etc. put in his stone house.
Judging from what he paid, I can imagine how costly and time-consuming it is. It will be worth it in the end!
It sounds as if you've made good progress so far. The interior will be the most fun part of the process!!!!

@kobesbuddy I never said a word either. It was only furniture after all.
Now, they are neat and respectful. No great grand babies for a long time. By then, it will be time to redecorate again.

@DianneN When our grandchildren were babies, they slopped up our home but I didn't say a word. Now, they are older and act very respectful. The greats? Hmmmm, we don't see them very often. Once in a while Taylor stops by, but she only makes a quick pit stop.

Our TV is in the living room, there was a time when every room had a television set but now nobody watches much but are busy with their gadgets so it's only in the living room and mother's room.
I like your place, it's very cozy and clean.

My tv watching is done in the living room. I have a nice power reclining sofa and it's great being able to put my feet up and relax. I don't have a tv in my bedroom which might be weird to some people.
I love your tv family room. It's absolutely beautiful especially the color scheme. Now I can picture you both sitting there enjoying your tv time together.

I only have one to watch in my living room and a smaller one in our bedroom in Florida. No room there either.
Thank you. That was Doodles' room. It looks better without the kitty gyms and toys all over the place, but I'd rather have him.

Thanks. We hear all the sounds of nature whether or not our windows are opened. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the morning while walking and enjoy not only the sights in my own yard, but those in the neighbor as well.
In Florida, our TV is in the living room and our bedroom, too. No family room there.

@LowRiderX We had ivory leather before, but the dogs ruined it and our son spilled tomato sauce on the carpet. When he cleanied it, (an ivory burber carpet) he vacuumed up a thread and ruinted it. We had to cover it up with an area rug. Ugh!

@DianneN - I watch TV in my bedroom because my kids won't allow me to use the TV downstairs. They have the TV hooked up to all of their video game equipment and I'm not allowed to touch anything.

@jstory07 Our house has rooms that won't look good with TVs anymore since we redecorated using decorators. I don't even like the look of a TV in my bedroom, but need it to relax before bed or if I'm sick. We did keep unused TVs in the basement for many years, but those are long gone.
It's difficult to get rid of a TV when you buy a new one. We usually give them to our kids or family members who can use them.

Thank, Judy! You certainly have a lot of TVs for two people!
We let the kids take theirs from their bedrooms when they moved out and got rid of the TV in the amour in the guest bedroom. No sense to pay for cable when no one watches that TV..
We do have two in Florida. One in the living room and one in our bedroom.
