It means they learned it by reading

I remember one of my friend. He is a newbie in learning English. I pity for him because in the class he always bullied by other friends who can speak English better than him. He always mispronounced words.
Well, I saw his effort when he wrote down all the translations I taught him. From there, he improved. He only talked to me because he knew I don't make fun of him when he spoke wrong in English.
And this actually happened about 2 years ago.
So what happened now? The people who bullied him were.... Well we don't know, but I heard they are unemployed, even before the pandemic started. Me and my friend? We able to continue more higher studies now and sometimes being a research assistant and tutor. Karma, isn't it?
Before, he asks me what are people talking about in English. Now, he started the conversation in English with tourists, so I just stand beside him
I'm proud of him for his efforts. It goes well with the saying 'Never make fun of someone if they mispronounced a word. It means they learned it by reading'.
Seems like I have begin storytelling already tonight I should stop now.
Stay safe, take care.

I never make fun of people who mispronounce words. Hey! They actually know the word.

Yes , we must never make fun of others when they make a mistake. We must try to help them to improve as nobody is perfect in this world .
