Have been waiting on these day Lily buds to open in my front yard. They will bloom one a day. There are many varieties. This is my favorite with the deep red color and yellow inside.
The nectar is deep inside the bloom. The butterflies will get almost buried inside when they arrive. The hummingbirds will do the same. Always after the nectar.
The sun was in my eyes while taking the photo. Will get a clearer one next time.

These blooms greeted me earlier this morning. A great way to start the day.

Really to me it does not matter its a lovely flower and where we once lived a lady grew all kinds of that kind of flower and she is a dab hand at it too.
She grew them outside of her own garden as she had a dog like ours that was forever digging up the flowers.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I know dogs can cause problems in the garden. Thanks for your kind words. Good to see you.

@myklj999 So I have been wrong all of these years. I was told when I bought them, and the tag said tiger lily. I stand corrected.
Changed my title to what they really are...
A favorite red selection, Hemerocallis 'Crimson Pirate' produces open, bright crimson-red, starry blossoms, 4 in. wide (10 cm), with paler midribs, a blood-red eye and a yellow throat atop a mound of arching leaves. Irresistible! Each flower lasts at least

What a beautiful flower! Do bees also go after the nectar, or is it just the butterflies and hummingbirds?

@CarolDM Does it ever get crowded in there with all the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds trying to drink the Kool-Aid? lol

@moffittjc They take turns, but the blooms are big enough for all of them.
