Reversal of good fortune?--Stay or Move?

This morning I received an email from my landlady. A few hours ago, I received a text from her. She told me that she'd spoken to my apartment building's manager about the situation. If I haven't found a place to move to yet, I can stay. I don't have to move. She said we all make mistakes and to let the police handle my upstairs neighbors in the after-hours if they're noisy. But if it happens again, I'm out. So she wants to know if I'm staying on or not.
I've emailed my brother and let him know. Even though I received moving money from my father yesterday in the mail, if I stay, I can save it for emergencies like computer repair or for Wylie. I don't have to worry about calling movers, packing and moving everything, and other stresses. If I stay, I don't mind having more spot checks from my brother either. And I'll buy noise-cancelling headphones from Amazon. Though I've mentioned this to her two weeks ago when I've gotten the eviction notice in my mailbox, I I appreciate this final chance to be a quiet neighbor and keep my apartment clean. (She made no mention of cleaning in the email.)
Though I'm on the waiting list for a few apartments (and still waiting to hear back from my priest on that long-shot apartment), I still would've loved a shot at #1 if anything opens up within a week or so. I'm waiting to hear from my brother on his response before I can follow-up my email/text to her.

If the neighbors are not good and you have found another house you may switch

If you really can`t have a peaceful environment there. I think you move but you still don`t know if your neighbors there will be more peaceful than before

It is always nice to have options. At least this takes the pressure off.

I would be curious what she thought wasnt clean enough. Perhaps your brother can help you with check lists or something.

Me too. My brother keeps telling me, it's not up to their standards in his opinion, though there's been no complaints in 10 months. He's been doing spot checks mainly for clutter and the kitchen and nothing else. Most recently, he nitpicked my dining room table last week because it was sticky. But not from spills. I'll find out tomorrow on the way to Apple.
