Peace is on my mind

I washed and dried and put away some forks. While I was doing that small task, I thought about the meat forks that I have in my china cabinet. How forks have looked and evolved through history. This morning I took an inventory of what we have on hand for food. I put items into categories: protein, vegetables, fruit. We're low on fruit. Not good there but I really am resisting going to a grocery store this Friday. The Virus cases have risen quite a bit here in just the last couple of days. I do need to get chicken chow pretty soon but that feed store does not have many folks in it, first thing in the morning. This afternoon I took one of our tons too ripe bananas and mashed it with a little yogurt then mixed that in with this week's yeast bread dough. The sugar from the banana helped the dough to rise quite nicely. We just eat store bread too quickly. Home bread fits our needs best. Summer and warmer temps are starting to arrive at my house. The local sheriff had a little to do list for the upcoming fire season. The just in case get your rear in gear list. I hope everyone's Wednesday is going well.

@paigea A friend of mine goes hiking with her husband even with this Virus going on. I'm too nervous to travel an hour or more for a hike.

@sallypup I agree. I can walk without driving anywhere. And I encounter no one. I will drive to meet someone and visit well spaced. Outside. Have only done that twice. This weekend we are traveling for an outdoor "safe" grad. Big venture!

Wasn't that right around 2016 @sallypup ? There were some major nasty fires in Cal and Montana, fire is the scariest of mother natures rage.

@rebelann I think you're right on that time line. The sagebrush and cheat grass get so dry here and high winds don't help.

@rebelann Fire danger suddenly came to me a couple of years ago. Totally unnerving- a deputy suddenly telling me to get out within 15 minutes. No messing around. Luckily it did not reach me and mine.

Thank you @CarolDM. A town about an hour and a half from me has a lot of orchard workers. They're really hurting there. Poor folks.

We have curbside service available with most of our stores. We can get most of our supplies buy ordering online or calling the store ahead of time. I am thankful for that service. I still haven't made homemade bread yet. I should do it, my husband did go out of his way to find yeast for me when our lives were initially turned upside down. I have a stand mixer that could knead the bread dough. Carpel tunnel keeps me from doing that task on my own.

@ElusiveButterfly Sometime I should look into machines that would help me make bread. My shoulder is griping cause of the work that I did yesterday. Carpal tunnel is the pits.

I was low on fruit too, so this morning I ventured out to the grocery store and loaded up on all kinds of fruit. It was such a nice morning that I walked to the store instead of driving. Got a little exercise while shopping for healthy foods!
