Internet Acting Up

My internet connection has been acting up. Of course I cannot afford this because I work from home.
I have two internet service providers - one is fiber which is my main ISP. This one works fine in my laptop but the connection is iffy in my mobile phone. If it is windy or if it rains, both my mobile phone and laptop lose internet connection.
The second ISP that I have is a prepaid wifi modem. Tried it in my laptop. It works but guess what? It doesn't work with my work apps so it is basically useless since I got this as a back-up when main ISP 1 acts up. It does work well with my mobile phone, I can browse and all but Spotify and the game that I play doesn't work with prepaid wifi modem. So I got an expensive paper weight. I will give it a chance to redeem itself before I smash it to pieces with my bare hands.
My third one is a data plan. Surprisingly, it works the best in my phone. I tried using it for my laptop using the mobile hot spot function, nah, it doesn't work or it was so slow I didn't bother waiting for it.
So yeah, internet connectivity is acting up but life goes on. I can't believe we let ourselves be controlled by the internet.
Yes, it is convenient.
Yes, it is fast.
No, there is more to life than the internet.
I have to leave now and listen to my transistor radio and watch news in an old black and white telly that has a dial to switch between five local channels.

True that.
The main ISP is good but when it rains or it is windy, I need an alternate ISP that I can count on.

Yeh, in some ways the internet complicates our life, since we are so dependent on it. I have a couple old (we are old, lol) friends who still barely use it. Sometimes I understand why. But right now I am very glad for the internet because so many friends are here. I'm still isolating, so it's nice to have the socialization online. It's almost humorous how I panic if the internet goes out. I do have other things around here I could be doing, lol. Good luck with your connections!

Thanks. I need all the luck I can get!
I have friends, not old mind you who don't have social media accounts and not even a smart phone. They live in their own bubble and have a basic phone to call and text.
For a good time I lived like that - no social media accounts and no smart phone - simpler times!

What a highly intellectual rant!
I like the ERGO and the back-to-life conclusion. Really, the old telly is still alive? Mine gave way years back. The transistor radio, too. Hu hu.

@eileenleyva mature rambling mindless chatter.
Sometimes it is best to keep it all in and filter it through another person's point of view.

@allen0187 Thanks. You got me there. Kindness becomes me, really. Ha ha.
Truly though, mature rambling can be delineated from mindless chatter.

My internet connection is okay. The only time I borrowed my brothers routed was when the Smart/PLDT maintenance. Not until the new schedule. I am in the morning shift now and my internet is slow.

My internet connection has been good the past couple of days. Still need to have a second provider that would serve as a back-up.

@jobelbojel Converge is good but their customer service is bad. That is the feedback that I heard from friends who have Converge.

You`re right. We all depend too much on the internet nowadays. I don`t know about others but it helps me to be connected with friends online and keep me busy on my free time

It does bring a lot of comfort and advantages but on the other hand, it takes so much of our time and it has taken over our lives.

Yeah, that is why it is important to have a couple of back-up connections available.

Everyone needs a reliable ISP that is not adversely affected by weather.

True.
The internet connection here in the Philippines isn't the best. It always lags and it is considered as one of the most expensive here in Asia.

@thelme55 that is why I need to get two connections for my work. One as a primary source and the second one as a back-up.

Yes, we have been sucked into total reliance on the internet for so many things. Paying bills, finding information, reading news, sending e-mails, things I never would have imagined. Technology has definitely taken over our lives.

@allen0187 You make sense, but in some ways after the internet draws you into it's web you become accustomed to it. I do like skipping trips to the bank and saving money on stamps for paying bills.

So internet is used to connect man and machine, what happens to the connection between man and machine if the internet is gone?
Is the connection between man and machine gone too? So man cannot operate the machine without the internet?
Is that the future that we want to have?
