Come Into My Heart.

"Heavenly Father, I look up to Thee to enlighten what is dark in me, To strengthen what is bruised in me, To heal what is sick in me, and to straighten what is crooked in me, and to revive whatever peace and love that have died in me. In Jesus' Name. Amen." This is a prayer from Fr. Jerry Orbos' mother, and my favorite priest shared the personal prayer today, the Feast of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The pandemia that has gripped the world has made me contrite. At least, that is what my introspection tells me right now. Somehow, being in isolation has made me realize everyone has been busy with whatever they are preoccupied with that we truly have forgotten our Jesus. That is why we have become weak and sick, crooked and like the living dead. In humility, I pray.... Come into my heart, my Lord Jesus, and restore me back to life. Amen.

That's the purpose of memories stored in our brains - to remember, to cherish, and then to smile.

This pandemic has made us realize that no matter how far you have achieved something in your life it can be taken abruptly. We were given the opportunity to look deeper into what life is to you by stopping everything and reflect on it. It gave us an opportunity to see things through in a different manner. It is like a retreat of some sort that we never thought could happen in this time and in our generation. We were simply caught off guard about it.

You are correct. The pandemia is an enforced retreat. We are forcibly grounded in isolation. From that perspective, the pandemia is a blessing. As you said - 'an opportunity to see things through in a different manner.' Now we know the pursuit of money and all material things are shallow preoccupations. The pandemia is a lesson being reiterated, in huge proportion. From Matthew - 'What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?" My neighbors' expensive cars fill our neighborhood streets and pavements. All rendered useless.

A little prayer in the name of God does help us to feel better and restore our faith in him.

There's a song being played in youtube that has a verse "if Jesus comes back today, we'd crucify Him again." Man, including me, have become overly opinionated, terribly self-confident, with nary a humility in our playing God. Hu hu.
