Bell pepper from Trader Joe's is spoiled

I took out a yellow bell pepper from the fridge that I bought in Trader Joe's on Sunday. When I cut it open it was moldy and spoiled inside. The pepper was perfectly good when I bought it and only four days have passed. It should not spoil that fast. I am not happy at all. Of course, I threw it into the trash. Good thing the bell pepper only cost $1.19. However, even a dollar wasted is not a good thing.

@lovebuglena the guy I think was saying something like wiping or keeping it dry but at the same time humid while storing. In another article that I read, it said " inspect it when you buy it " see to it that it's firm and not soft I really wish you can get something from the tips, good luck and let us know if shelf life improves next time

@louievill When I buy bell peppers I always make sure they are firm and not wrinkly or soft. However, you can't really know what is inside it and if it will go bad quickly.

Usually bell peppers last a long time in the fridge, especially if it's uncut - but I guess not this one. I hope you were still able to make whatever you were cooking at that time.

I'm sorry. Sometimes we do get a nasty surprise from the grocery store.

And it doesn't even matter how much I paid for something. If I spend money I want that item to not be spoiled or go bad quickly.

It's disappointing when this happens. It's money wasted.

@thelme55 Of course. But for it to go bad in half a week is crazy.

@lovebuglena I agree. That is why I use it before it will get rotten.

Sorry it was spoiled. You could take it back.

I’d be annoyed too, it went off very quickly.

Yeah. And I really wanted to eat some bell pepper. That was the only one I had.

It is just a dollar.

Not to me. And it's not just about the dollar but the spoiled bell pepper.
