How does your garden grow? My tallest sunflower!

My tallest sunflower is almost up to my balcony railing. A few others are doing well too, as are the green beans. My big mission for today is to get some fresh corn and tomato seeds. I've been saying that for days. Perhaps today I'll actually get it done. The feed store is only a 1/2 mile cycle away. What are you up to on this sunny Saturday? Do you have a garden growing?

@wolfgirl569 It's strong here too, but most of my Summer plants seem happy. My pansies are getting tired, though.

I'm going to do a bit of watering right now. I see only a few clouds in the sky.

I picked up my first tomato and the hot peppers are growing well. The birds seeded some sunflowers that are now growing up pretty well.

@TheHorse I grow Italian round hot peppers called "Bacio di Satana" (Satan Kiss), because we love to stuff them with tuna mixed to mayonnaise and capers, you never know how hot they are it's called "Italian Roulette".

@LadyDuck Oh, that sounds like fun! Do you have a picture? The peppers my friend gave me are mall and red and wrinkled. They're dried. I actually like grilled Mexican peppers. I'm forgetting what they're called right now They're bigger than jalapenos.

That's nice of the birds! I've never tried hot peppers, but my Filipino friend grows them and brought me literally a hundred. So I decided not to try growing them.

I have a minute garden compared to yours and it's doing well. I'm celebrating the day away, and relaxing here when I can. I can't wait for fresh corn to be in season!!!!!!

@DianneN I went to the (animal) feed store today (on my bike) in search of corn and tomato seeds (they were out, so I'll have to go to Home Depot), but I mostly stay at home or go swimming with Horse Jr.

I hope to have a few good ones this Summer I failed on my mission to get corn and tomatoes today. The feed store was out (but I got a short cycle in). I'll visit Home Depot tomorrow.

@JudyEv I like growing stuff from seeds. I get a tickle in my tummy (to misquote @Maluse) when I first see a sprout poking through.

@TheHorse Seedlings have been hard to come by here too. There seems to be plenty of seeds.

I usually have pretty good luck with sunflowers. But they do best in deeper soil than I have here.

@CarolDM I did. They never grow tall on my balcony, but I always get a few blooms.

Strawberries are going gangbusters. Everything else is taking their time. Spent the afternoon finishing up the new flower bed I started yesterday.

I've got radishes and carrots on my veranda. Some strawberry plants that have some very green strawberries, and two tomato plants. One was a gift from a store = lots of tomatoes. The other one is from seeds, so I've got no idea if it will behave = make tomatoes.

@TheHorse Unless they succumb to the heat, yes. I see I must give them all some water now, the sunflower is looking a bit desperate. I've got a sunflower to cater for bees if they visit, although it's a bit too high.

@Torunn How tall is it? Too high for what? I'm happy that the bees are enjoying your sunflower.

I don't go outside much and I don't have a garden. One of the things I like about visiting MyLot is that a lot of the members talk about their garden and share. pictures. Thanks for sharing.
