I do have an interest in insects. I keep my distance as long as they keep theirs. This is a photo i took years ago when i was in New York of a Praying Mantis. It's a rare sight to see one as they are pretty good at camouflage. This one just happened to be on a flower i had in a vase outside.
One insect i've never seen yet is a stick bug.
Do you like insects? What's your favorite?

It looks as if was sorting through each petal. I think males and females differ in color?

@Debscrochet ohhh I didn’t know that. But I surely saw a stick bug (and lots of other bugs) in the movie A Bug’s Life.

I don't have a strong opinions one way or another. I think my favorite would be bees, as they work tegether and make honey. Plus they seem to be endangered right now. I get visited by a praying mantis about twice a year. This past year, I let one walk on my hand and arm before I released him (or her) in some bushes. The bug didn't seem afraid and didn't try to bite me.

Must be a purpose though, like food for birds. Except the mosquito. No reason for that one. Maybe for bats?
