horse photo number three

Not joking on today's sun glare. I put an old straw hat on and headed out to the horse cause I'd bought paint and just could not wait. Silly me. The heat is driving a headache in. Horse is not done yet. Tonight, toward dark and hopefully cooler temps, I plan to color his saddle and saddle blanket, hopefully his bridle and maybe the mane and tail. That part is going to take hand coordination. We'll see about that. Meantime I am trying to get silver paint off my hands.

I love how it's turning out! You need a tree to work under.

@DianneN Wow I agree with you. Seattle and such are tree areas. I live on the dry side. I'm so glad I found an old straw hat today.

@m_audrey6788 I agree. I like to match colors so I am going to try to do some contrasting on him.

@m_audrey6788 Later, when the sun is down a bit, I might go spray paint his mane and tail copper.

Great job but watch out for the heat, it can be too much this time of year.

@sallypup oh bummer, we have 4 window ac units and we have been using which ever one we need for the room we are in. It has been in the 90s here and humid

@BelleStarr Its dry and around 90 here. Totally awful. The guy has showed and now we will see if we will have to go to the next guy and that could mean waiting until tomorrow for help. 4 units sounds super.

@BelleStarr Thanks very much. I will let the cat out of its figurative bag: our heat pump has picked this heat to quit delivering cold air. We are trying to get a guy out to see if he knows what is going on. So....do I go into the sun and paint or stay in the shady house and sweat??

Your horse is looking good so far. Are you going to call him Silver?

Ha ha @JudyEv I've thought about calling him Silver. (Hi ho and away!) He now has a copper mane and tail and the saddle seat is green.

@arunima25 The horses are on my property, in one of my gardens. (I live on three acres.)

Cool project. Glad you are wearing a hat to block the sun. Get in before the headache takes over.

What are you going to do with the horses when they are done.

@jstory07 The horses are like a mascot for one of my gardens. I also have a turquoise ornamental bird cage on its stand- just pretty things to complement the flowers and vegetables.

@Jessicalynnt I find it fascinating that more than one person has asked this question. Am I goony that I like and seek garden art? Is it odd that I install garden art and don't just plant rows of vegetables in the summer and plant trees and shrubs for every season? I'm not trying to be obnoxious. Just exploring this question. So this Warrior Pony is garden art. What do I do with him? Admire, appreciate, acknowledge my need to have dust catchers that are also a piece of my garden.
