I was surprised to see the buds of the dragon fruit in our front yard. It is supposed to appear by next month and it is early for this season. There are 6 buds that I had counted and in a few days they will open to show the white aromatic flower. Maybe I have to post that.

I think dragon fruit only grows in tropical countries.

@Alexandoy we have this a lot at home before the pandemic.
Nowadays, I don't see much of it in groceries.

I also just recently planted dragon fruits, although they are now alive and I had seen some growth progress I had not yet reached that stage you are now, probably in a year or more. I hope your flowers turn to fruits.

@Alexandoy yes I researched it, if I'm lucky I could make it in nine months ( i hope ) since I planted long branches given by my son's " ninang" ( godmother ) who owns a farm. I'm experimenting using natural nitrogen fertilizer made from giant ipil ipil leaves. I'm fine waiting 1 to 1.5 years if what I'm thinking is wrong since mine is just in large pots and not on the ground.

@louievill the fruiting season starts now until September or October. I still don't know how to make it bear fruits out of season.

Next year your dragon fruit will be having flowers. It just takes 1 and 1/2 years from planting to fruiting.

This dragon fruit is the red variety that we call purple. It is so sweet unlike the white that is good for salad.

@nawala123 only the white variety is made into a salad. The purple or red is eaten like it is.

@Alexandoy like quotes for example. I like the quotes as my words of wisdom. But a Bible word also considered as words of wisdom.
If for banana, they said 'Like banana bears fruit only once, that's how you going to care your marriage too'.

If there is no snow in your state then it can grow there. It is succulent and very sweet.
