How good are you in Math?

They say that Koreans and Chinese are very good in Math. They excel more in this subject. I say, if a person is good in Math, he is not in English and vice versa. Well, just my observation. I know someone who is very good in Math but can hardly express himself in English. And I know someone as well who is eloquent in English but when it comes to numbers, her brain refuses to think. I know a few people who are good at both subjects. They can solve complicated Math at the same time, good in English. What about you, how good are you in Math?

I grew up with these Asian stereotypes. My arithmetic work was excellent but thereafter my math skills floundered .

@Janet357 I took it up to Calculus and struggled all the way. In real life, honestly I never really used math beyond arithmetic - my field didn't required it. Thank goodness for calculators .

But as far as you know basic Math, not a problem. We use the four operations in Math in our daily life, so it is okay. Beaides, calculator was invented already.

The Chinese are good in math especially the older ones who were oriented in the abacus when they were students.

I agree. They are even good in business. I just wonder, they are so good in math and yet they don't know their boundaries that they still claim territories not theirs. Can't they measure it?

Numbers and letters hold the same degree of difficulty. Just that people differ in intelligence, One may have the mathematical skill but not the linguistic skill, and vice versa. But a person could have both, but lack in musical or natural or kinetics or spatial, or spiritual. My math was all right when I was in school. With no practice, I am very poor in the subject now.

Just as they say, you can't have it all. But academic skills is just one of the seven types of intelligence.

I hated maths not because it's a bad subject but because I had really boring math teachers . They never tried to make the subject interesting.

I don't think I'm good in math. Sometimes I think I'm good but there are times that I think I'm really not into math.

I'm average I suppose. I never could solve math in my head but I'm good on paper. I love history but never with exact dates of events. I have decent English skills at least grammatically.

I enjoyed algebra in school but the rest you'll have been hard. I do bookkeeping for our business so I do okay for the simple stuff. Now both my girls are excellent in may see and one tutored math once she gets the grass out graduated . There math I learned when young is quit a bit different than what my kids learned and hopefully I won't have to help my grandkids with their math homework.
