Simone St. James is one of my favorite authors. If you've talked to me about books, you probably already know this. I bought her latest book back when it was still on pre-order. I am just now getting around to reading it.
I should have read it before. I was worried that I wouldn't like it because it isn't set in the same era that her other books are. It's great so far. I am sure I will finish it as fast as I've finished all her other books.
Afghan
This is the pink yarn that I spoke about earlier. I'm not a fan of pink but that is the exact reason I bought it. I wanted to work with a color I wasn't a fan of. This is the two skeins I bought today already worked up. I'll buy grey next to go with it. The pattern is 1 row SC, 1 row DC and 1 row DC BLO on repeat. I'm sure there are some stitches looser than others, but I like it so far. It's nice. It's a practice-ghan. I need to practice the Treble next.
The Entertainment Center
has been moved to the backyard. No one is going to get it - including the charity people. Either they are full up (two places were) or they aren't open until tomorrow and it's going to rain (ruin) in the next few minutes.
How's your Day?

I just finished the book and it was like most of her books..Lots of drama towards the end but always a good ending.
Thank You. I can't wait to work more on it. The more I think about it, the more I might just bite the bullet and get hooks again and see if I am better at them now then I was before.

@LindaOHio I hope so. I am going to buy some soon. I really want to make some granny squares because I absolutely love them.

@Adie04 Yes, practice does make perfect. Sometimes it's hard to find time to do the things we love.

I attempted to crochet when I was between the ages of 18-20. I was always messing up, either making a single crochet into a slip stitch or just my tension was off. Now I use my fingers to crochet and find it much easier.

I think my favorite color has almost always been purple. I was a tomboy when I was little, so I feel like pink would have been too girly for me. Yes, I am enjoying it so far.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Lol! My favorite color used to be red as a child and teenager. As an adult my favorite is Turquoisse.

What genre does Simone St. James write? My favorite author hasn't written a book in years, her name is Camy Tang and she writes inspirational/suspense/romance.
That is a beautiful color, are you making the afghan for someone?
We had a very old large tv that got rained on, so we called for the large pick up, that's where we can call ahead of time for a truck to pick up something large on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
My day went well, I picked up clothes for these women staying at my neighbors, they recently lost their house and everything in it. Then I went shopping and took my son to his friend's graduation party. After watching the teaching I missed yesterday, I just laid around and now my husband wants to go to the store.

Simone St James does paranormal mystery with just a sprinkle of romance in it. Most of her books are set in the WWI and WWII time periods, but this one is set in 1982 and 2017. I
I am making this one for myself, but I do plan to make two of them, one for each of my best friends. I'm just trying to practice, figure out which stitch I want to use and practice color switching.
We have big trash day here usually, but it was cancelled. I tried calling the city to see about the dump but it took me to the City Link menu so we gave up.
I'm sorry to hear about those women who lost their house and everything in it. How devastating. Are they okay physically? My nephew graduated High School two weeks ago and I tried messaging him but still nothing.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, both work, but the mother didn't at first because the store she worked at was closed during the covid and it just opened up a couple weeks ago. However, her husband had a stroke last year, I am not sure how he is and there is also a 9 year old of the younger woman.

@Carmelanirel2 Right, this virus has strained a lot of people financially. I know a few that still haven't gotten the government checks.

Right. Getting out of our comfort zones / thinking outside the box. It's good for us.
