A boy became CBSE Topper with 499/500 Marks in 10th standard. So as the tradition goes Some news reporter went to interview him, out of those Interviewers, one was particularly dumb and stupid.
So the reporter asked him cliched question like
What inspired you to study hard.
What else did you do?
Can you give advise to youngsters.
.
And then an unexpected question.
You must be having regret for the loss of 1 mark?
And I was like
WTF DID YOU SAY??!!!
and it didn't stop there, she Asked his father the same question and his reply was ;
.
.
It was in the back of my Mind that He could do better…
And they Ask “why are Children loosing their childish behavior?”
This is what's wrong with Indian parents and society. Making kids feel that nothing is enough….

I guess you are talking about previous year. The result is still not out for this year. My elder daughter has appeared for the exam this year.
Well we are parents who believe that our child's talent is much beyond her marks or performance in board exams. We have never made marks so important and pressurizing. She has to enjoy her learning.

Yes this is the news of last year And I appreciate you for not making any kind of pressure on your daughter. But in this world there are many such parents who make pressure to bring good marks on their children. They need to understand that marks do not decide our future .

@Mnpo098 This is not only a problem in India. It is sadly an universal problem. Yes Asian parents do it more for more cultural and social reasons. But I have seen it in varying intensity everywhere. When I visited Singapore, I felt that the local education system there was too strict and too discriminating when it came to academic performance. it was too stressful. Children were actually trained in a robotic way.

Isn't just Indian parents that are like this. They do need to remember that yes passing is required but your grades don't define you... If you're a doctor not many people are going to say "Oh you got 499/500 for that test I don't trust you."

@Mnpo098 They might see your academic transcripts in some circumstances but not all jobs would ask for them.

Indian parents have orthodox thinking. Even students are taking education to get a job. Not to acquire knowledge.
